Who Pays?

Pregnancy care in New Zealand is fully funded by the Ministry of Health if you:

• Are a New Zealand citizen
• Hold a New Zealand residence permit
• Are an Australian citizen or permanent resident who has lived or intends to live in New Zealand for two years or more
• Hold a NZ work permit that is valid for two years or more
• Are a pregnant wife or partner of someone who is eligible for the above criteria
